Dewayne Wickham
illustrates progressive newspeak in fine fashion. He asserts that it is "time to see war in human terms not ideological ones". As with most collectivist/liberals he masks his completely ideological opinion piece under an altruistic sounding banner.
He wastes no time in trotting out his ideology by referring to "he war President Bush launched in Iraq". The majority of we Amfree Net participants didn't agree with the decision to invade Iraq but no one was silly enough to make the obviously partisan and ideological claim that Wickham does.
His rightly notes that Memorial day is about honoring those who served. He misses that it is about those who served and died. Not those who served and returned. That is Veterans day.
He tries to say that war isn't (or shouldn't be) about ideology and politics. Unfortunately that what all wars are about. You can't separate politics and war. War is diplomacy by other means.
He thinks we shouldn't think about the Iraq war in ideological terms. That isn't possible considering the enemy there has an
IDEOLOGY of destruction of western culture, faith and political systems.
Mr. Wickham shares a nice feel good cotton candy screed, driven by
HIS OWN ideology, and pretty useless in terms of the real world.
