Tent Making in American Politics

So many pundits, many of them leftist offer sage advice on how the Republicrats could again become the party in power.  They speak of "mainstream" and "big tents" and "moderation".  The collectivists would love the elephants to follow this advice so they can remain a party with no principles and very little electoral appeal.  Non-activist voters tend to want conviction, principle and the keeping of promises made.  The lack of these is what causes America's historical disapproval of the current ruling elite.

For the republicrats to become Republican again they don't need a "big tent" they need a new tent.  Done right, the tent will be enormous.  Following this simple RWR ideal; "A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers." is the path to take.

Don't convince people who don't share conservative and originalist beliefs to join the party.  It will weaken it.  Rather educate people about the truth of history.  Demonstrate the policies that have worked.  Free enterprise, individual liberty, personal responsibility and small Federal government.  Illustrate the failures of EVERY big government "solution".  The great depression, extended by government.  The war on poverty failure.  Government regulation killing industries or driving them off-shore.  The list is not endless but is very long.

The "tent" will be HUGE of its own accord because people want prinicpled leadership from people who intend to SERVE rather than rule.  Don't build a big tent, build the tent right.

Questions for the Obamessiah (or his staff)

These things are not available for public scrutiny. Can you tell us why?  When do you intend to make them available.  If not, why not?

Silence in the Courts

While generally opposing activist courts it is most disconcerting when they don't or won't act in their actual constitutional role.  The Federal Behemoth's nationalizing of private companies is quite grossly outside the scope of their enumerated powers.

Actual harm to private citizens and their property is taking place.  From the link above; "GM pensioners, did indeed represent something like $20 billion worth of GM’s liabilities. So the idea that the union should get an equity stake in return for that is fair enough. However, the UAW is getting three times as much as the bondholders, who represent $28 billion of GM’s outstanding liability."

Where is equal protection under the law?  Where is the prohibition on illegal "taking".  Where is the "fairness" that collectivists so frequently moan about?.

Who has standing to bring suit?  Why hasn't it been done already?  If I held those bonds I'd be suing GM's butt off as well as challenging the blatantly unconstitutional actions of the executive branch.

They can't win, so they try to cheat, lie and whine

Our dear friend Mut (pronounced Moot) sends this timely warning from her excellent post on our main site. Here is a critical excerpt:

“Just this morning, I received word that a new radical organization calling itself “A New Way Forward” has put together an underhanded sneak attack designed to undercut the popular uprising known as the Tea Party Movement,” Bill Wilson, of Americans for Limited Government (ALG), warned mainstreet Americans yesterday.
“Simply put, their idea is to stage phony rallies throughout the country on April 11–made to look like they are part of the Tea Party movement–while actually opposing Tea Party principles and supporting the complete government takeover of our banking system.”
Memo to mainstream Americans: The far left, masters of hypocrisy and street theatre, will use decoys in “The Way Forward” to pose as YOU in an attempt to undermine and shut down the Tea Party movement.

Just like the Moonbats, they can count on the mainstream media to help them pull off their doublecross.

“`The Way Forward’ scam was conjured up by an Obama activist named Michael Lux,” says Wilson. “Lest anyone try to tell you that Mr. Lux is sincere in saying he wants to “help rebuild the banking system”, don’t you believe it for one single second. Before starting up his new Obama front group, Lux was a high-paid lobbyist for the AFL-CIO, a top executive for the leftwing People for the American Way, and a special assistant at the Clinton White House.”

Arrogant, Petulant, Flippant Incompetence

http://amfreenet.com/tea-parties-schedulesDid you see the President on Leno?  Did you see him on 60 Minutes?  Have you seen his responses to those who dare question his direction, plans and goals.
It seems our President has failed to mature beyond his teens.  He needs not to fulfill his mentor Alinsky's principles.
He is plotting a course that is dangerous or worse, he isn't plotting anything beyond his emotion based vision of collectivism.
Wake up Americans and protect your American Freedom.
We can live with and through arrogance.  So many politicians are just that.  We can tolerate petulance and flippancy although that destroys confidence in the man entrusted to execute our laws.
The apparent incompetence is what is worrisome.  There are ways you can .  Do it!!!!

Tired of being told what "everyone" agrees on?

We are a little sick and tired of being told by the nattering nabobs of left and right that "everyone agrees" that "some sort of stimulus by government is necessary".

Patent hogwash.
1.  The constitutionality of much (if not most or all) of the porkulus package is in serious question
2. Because some opinionator on TV or radio thinks "some sort of stimulus" is necessary doesn't make it so.  They operate in their own insulated circle and so believe that their friends and colleagues constitute "everyone".
3. Name an example when government programs ever fixed ANYTHING, EVER!

Brent Bozell gives great examples of these lemmings (his examples are on the left because he isn't).

My favorite is a network boob hectoring Eric Cantor with; "Can the Republican Party accept that there are situations when large-scale government intervention is necessary?".

Maybe some (or many or most) Republicrats can accept that falsehood but no freedom loving American who thinks should do so.  There are no situations, aside from war, where government has ever been successful when "intervening" in the free market.

Finally the media ditzoids should realize when they whine about "nationalizing" things this simple truthful equation.  "Nationalization" equals theft.  When you take the property of individuals without their permission it is called stealing.

To be a collectivist you must either be:
1. Poor and unwilling to take the steps necessary to improve your lot
2. So well off or insulated (by your politicrat status) that confiscating some of your property doesn't harm you.  See any billionaire entertainer or business person who espouses collectivist views.

Most people want to be left alone to enjoy the fruits of their labors or to labor to gain more fruits.  Not to stand in line for handouts of hot off the presses government scrip that our descendents will be harmed by for generations.

Lying Marxists or Statist Hero?

So called "progressives" are so married to the idea that elite government bureaucrats can better provide for the citizenry than the people can themselves.  This drives their disregard for clean elections, factual statements on policy and for those they strive to fool into voting them into power.  It also drives the old media in their inability to even approach objectivity in news coverage.  This isn't shocking to freedom loving and thinking American citizens.  It is expected.  Amazing how droves of sheople fall for it.

What is worse is having a genuine American hero who has lost all contact with American history, constitutional government and any concept of liberty.  In other words, reality.

A stark choice?  Nope, rather a matter of statist and elitist degree.  Both have no qualms and have demonstrated no hesitation to support, propose and work for any restrictions on YOUR LIBERTY that they deem to be "good for you" or "best for the country".

Don't perpetuate your own path to enslavement.

Fiscal irresponsibility tied to unconstitutional scope

It is worth reading Radley Balko's very good piece on the ongoing financial mismanagement of and by our Uncle Sugar.  He points out the irresponsible and perhaps illegal aspects of how the Federal Behemoth handles money (YOUR MONEY) that would have each of those bureaucrats screaming for criminal indictments if practiced by *regular* (peons like you and me) people or *normal* (not funded by mandatory confiscations of money) businesses.

However these observations only scratch the surface.  These irresponsible and dangerous practices certainly would never be allowed by a responsible business.  The worst part however is that most of these shenanigans are in support of unconstitutional governmental activities.  If the Federal Government would limit itself to its enumerated powers such "creative accounting" wouldn't be necessary.  Therefore it would be markedly less likely to happen.

Federal Government doesn't exist and wasn't intended to *give you things* or to "help you" in bad times.  That is the proper province of family, community and State.  It is unfortunate that so many citizens and most (if not all) politicians see central government as nothing more than a bag of goodies to be distributed, well intentioned or not, to ensure their own hold on office.

While the government politicrats plan to commit 700 BILLION of YOUR dollars to a socialistic "rescue" of bad business practices, take a look at rational reality.  Thanks Walter Williams.  Throw the bums out is a slogan befitting both major parties.  Even more important is to educate the citizenry of what Constitutional Government is and should be.

Gas Flapping

People and particularly the media and politicians want to rant about oil and the *evil big oil* corporations. The sheople eat it up without looking at facts about "Big Oil". They also don't realize that every contributing factor to the rise in gas prices have simple solutions. Simple solutions that the collectivist elites and politicians and *activists* will do anything to stop.

The economics are simple. When a product is in increased demand, the price can go up, depending on supply. The price will ALWAYS go up when supply (increasing or not) doesn't match demand. No amount of government intervention or taxing of the suppliers will change this. No artificial subsidization or promotion of alternative fuels will change this. The artificial supports actually contribute to the price increases.

Why doesn't supply of gasoline and diesel fuel keep up with demand in our country?

  1. We don't have enough refining capacity and leftist collectivists forbid, hinder and block any attempts to change that shortage
  2. We don't exploit our own oil resources sufficiently and leftist collectivists forbid, hinder and block any attempts to change that.
  3. Government sees fuel as a cash cow and continually raises taxes on the product and leftist collectivists never want to reduce or eliminate any existing confiscation of the citizens' monies.

A favorite political line is "dependence on foriegn oil". That dependence won't be alleviated by government mandated *solutions* but by increasing our domestic supply and refining capacity. Finally, the media will have the sheople bemoan the dependence on Middle East oil. 15% or less of the oil processed and used in the U.S. are from Middle East sources.

Economic Freedom not Government policies are the answer to high gas prices and shortages in supply.
